Move Over, David Hasselhoff, Germany has a New Darling!

Seeing as I am still in my first year of blogging, there is soooo much I still need to learn.  So, I decided to start poking around at the information my plugins can gather about my readers, specifically their home country.  I could not believe the information I was given, and I think you may be surprised, too.  Well, you would have been, had I been able to keep a lid on my David Hasselhoff reference.

What do you have “Too Many Kids” to Ever do Again?

About 6 months ago, I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with our basement being out of commission, everything out of place, and just having too many jobs to do.  I had the girls doing their Saturday jobs, just like I did growing up (I still hate Saturday mornings because of it), but it just wasn’t enough.  I was still running ragged, and the house didn’t even look that good.  Then I remembered a comment that I had heard many months ago that had meant nothing to me at the time, but was a huge revelation to me all of a sudden.

Rheumatoid Arthritis – A Tale of Two Treatments

A few months ago, I was called by a friend who had recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  She was prescribed Methotrexate pills, which is low-dose chemotherapy to treat it.  This was fine for about the first six months, but then despite not feeling any worse, her routine tests to check on the progress of the disease showed a massive flare up that would require her to have chemotherapy infusions every eight weeks for the rest of her life.  This was in addition to the Methotrexate, which alone sucked the life out of her.  She began the infusions because she felt she had no choice, but the decision did not sit well with her.   She asked me if I knew of any natural way to treat arthritis.  I said I didn’t, but I’d be happy to look into it for her.

Hello, Old Friends! I’ve Got an Announcement . . .

Hello!!!!

I am so sorry that it’s been so long!  You’ve been keeping me busy, though, with emails and lots of good conversations about your health, your food, and your families.  I should have turned these emails into FAQs for sure, but our house has been turned upside down, and as a matter of fact, I am typing this standing up at my dresser.  Not exactly the ideal posture for typing!  We’ve gutted our basement, painted 2 bedrooms, thoroughly redecorated and given the three girls our old bedroom, built beds for them, and moved into Kath and Belle’s old room.  It’s been such a busy time, but I’ve so missed this interaction with my lovely readers!  So many of you have expressed how you’ve missed my posts, and I’ve missed writing them and hearing from you.  I’ve found that if I’m not writing, I really need to channel my creativity elsewhere, so I’ve been refinishing furniture and painting a ton.  The fact that Dave and I are actually going to make it to our 10 year anniversary next month is a true testament to just how much he will put up with from me!  Right now, there is a half-painted hutch in our dining room, and he is building rolling crates from scratch (per my request) for under the girls’ beds, not to mention the countless other projects he has smiled and gone along with – I am very lucky!

Yummy Snack

Sorry it’s been so long!  We decided to go to Ireland and had only a few weeks to get everything ready.  Then we were gone for a week, and are still getting our house back in order!  Our trip was amazing!  My cousin got married while we were there, and it was just a wonderful experience for all of us.
